Solheim Cup: Rory McIlroy sends support message to Team Europe
Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia were one of the stars that are European to record exceptional messages of service to Europe’s Solheim Cup team.
Catriona Matthew’s side are trying to win the occasion for the first time since their record-breaking success in 2013, having lost to Team USA in the past two editions of this biennial contest.
McIlroy and Garcia were a part of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup team in Le Golf National this past year, together with the group alongside a host of other European players in offering their best wishes to their female counterparts.
The duo were joined by the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, former world no 1 Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington – Chairman of Europe’s 2020 Ryder Cup group – in recording their messages, even with the help likely to provide Team Europe a lift ahead of Friday’s opening session.
